5A Quarter Finals, Regis 24 Grand Junction 21, 11/19/2010
Four points behind, with 8 seconds left in the game, the Regis Raiders complete a pass to Conner McKay, # 11, to score and take the lead. Extra point is good. Grand Junction has one last chance to pull it out, but the Regis defense holds. Final score, Regis 24, Grand Junction 21. Below are a few of the shots I took at the game. More to follow.
It was an outstanding game, and both teams deserve a tremendous amount of credit and respect. My son, John Gaudio III, #73 on the Regis D-Line, was particularly impressed with the class and quality of the Grand Junction Tigers. It was a clean game; great football; and when it was over the Tigers congratulated the Raiders and told them to take state. The character they demonstrated after this tremendously close game, shows the best high school sports has to offer.
Go Raiders, Take State!
